Many great things happened here: I made life long friends, met my marvellous husband and worked in one of the most unforgettable department stores, Boswells of Oxford. I visit Oxford a lot as we have family there, but also because it's simply the most magical of places. I often reminisce over my university days, wandering around the colleges and the Pitt River's museum, pretending to be Lyra in Philip Pullman's The Northern Lights, spending my summers in the botanical gardens...the pubs are also fantastic! I used to live in the market town of Oundle, right in the middle of the market place. I still reminisce over Thursday market days and the occasional Saturday specialty markets. Also, the Oundle school children hurrying from one building to the next and queuing outside of the butchers for their deli rolls! Happy, nostalgic times. I knew I had to draw this town as soon as I moved there with my family. Such a lovely place to bring up children and making friends :) Art print currently in A4 but please enquire for more sizes.
